The Hillary for America Campaign and Priorities USA PAC Problem

The recent James O’Keefe undercover videos of illegal activities performed by associates of Hillary Rodham Clinton’s campaign and the DNC is shocking. To uncover more information on possible coordination between HRC’s campaign and the DNC, datamining was initiated, on the released Podesta Emails by WikiLeaks.

Below is an email exchange, dated February 2, 2016, Dennis Cheng, Finance Director at Hillary for America, had with various Hillary for America staff members. Staff members include: Milia Fisher, Special Assistant to the Chair at Hillary for America; Sara Latham, Chief of Staff to the Chairman at Hillary for America; and Michael Smith, Deputy National Finance Director for Outreach at Hillary for America. Dennis Cheng stated he has worked on a list for the Hillary for America fundraisers but intends to send very important Priorities USA PAC calls to John Podesta, Chair at Hillary for America. https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/9358#efmAEJAEVAEyAFIAFUAF1AH_AKK

Staff members include: Dennis Cheng, Finance Director at Hillary for America; Michael Smith, Deputy National Finance Director for Outreach at Hillary for America; and Charles Baker, Chief Administrative Officer at Hillary for America. John Podesta informed the campaign staff members that he had a good meeting with Cary Fowler, Executive Director at Global Crop Diversity Trust. He further stated that Cary Fowler would hold a high dollar fundraiser for the Hillary Victory Fund and that he pushed the case to hold a fundraiser for the Priorities USA PAC. He continued that Cary Fowler has pledged money to David Brock, Founder of the Media Matters conglomerate. https://wikileaks.org/podesta-emails/emailid/14993#efmAAaAAmAB6ACGAETAJy

Below is an email exchange, dated May 6, 2015, Jesse Ferguson, Key Spokesman at Hillary for America, had with various Hillary for America staff members. Staff members include: Dennis Cheng, Finance Director at Hillary for America; Marc Elias, General Counsel at Hillary for America, Perkins Coie LLP; Robby Mook, Campaign Manager at Hillary for America; Charles Baker, Chief Administrative Officer at Hillary for America; Jennifer Palmieri, Director of Communications at Hillary for America; and Kristina Schake, Deputy Communications Director at Hillary for America. The exchange between the campaign associates all but confirms that Hillary Rodham Clinton has had more than a few meetings with the Priorities USA PAC. Jesse Ferguson informed staff members that the New York Times will report on meetings between Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Priorities USA PAC. Jesse Ferguson stated that the campaign staff has not confirmed any meetings between Hillary Rodham Clinton and the Priorities USA PAC, and will never confirm those types of meeting. The statement itself begs the question of intent to cover a crime.

Below is an email exchange, dated July 31, 2013, Sean Sweeney, Partner at The Messina Group, had with John Podesta, Chair at Hillary for America. Sean Sweeney sent the following Microsoft Word attachment, NextStepsJP2.docx:

MEMORANDUM

To:                   John

From:  Sean

RE:                  Framework

Date:                July 31, 2013

Sine Qua Non

1 – A board for Priorities USA Action SuperPAC that includes:

You and Jim Messina as Chairs

Capricia Marshall (The donors all respect her immensely)

Paul Begala

Minyon Moore

Michael Whouley

(Harold Ickes and Greg Speed are already on the Board)

I think that if we are serious about having a functioning SuperPAC for her, it is imperative to have you and Jim as Chairs, and particularly important to have Michael and the Dewey Square folks to definitively get us out of this asinine us vs. Ready For Hillary world.  No matter what name the SuperPAC has, or who is involved with it, it will run into the same problems with regard to Ready for Hillary.  So if we are all serious about having it, everyone should be involved.  If this happens, donors will understand where to give money.

2 – A real understanding of what Ready for Hillary is doing.  If we get that, then maybe we can discuss again a capping their contributions and having us grant them money for operations.  That is going to be a very tall order given that he said they would cap, and they are very publicly soliciting above the cap.

3 – An agreement that satisfies Steve Bing, Jefrey Katzenberg, and Haim Saban.  I think that once we have a structure that is ready to move, everyone will come along, even if it is begrudgingly at first.
